Anyway who ask Joy Kitikonti what is music will get this answer…and he continues "Life is a mix: a combinations of sounds, styles, places, pictures. Contamination is the key to re-invent and to live own life, to escape from banality and from something of already seen or heard."Musician, dj and producer: Joy Kitikonti is a polyhedric artist with several discographic successes, important partnerships and awards in his background. He is 95° in Top 100 dj chart on Dj Mag 2002, and he is guest star in numerous national and international clubs… Joy Kitikonti was born on 19th January 1970 in Tuscany. He felt immediately a great passion for music when he was young, probably influenced by his father, a musician during 50ies.
His career began in 1984, he was a self taught musician, skilful with the battery and percussion instruments; in 1992 he became producer working with Francesco Farfa to "Progressive" movement. From Tuscany "Progressive Music" spreaded in all Italy and it found its natural position to Insomnia in Ponsacco, where Joy has been resident dj for long time.
In 1996 he became a member of Media Records. Here he realized important productions, a lot of remix and numerous collaborations with Media Records' djs. A lot of his productions were born under nicknames like: Rocktronick Orchestra, Marikit, Joman and Jakyro…
Up to now Joy has realized about 60 productions.
After "Etno Unite", "Agrymonizer", and "Raggattack" by Joman, and Veruska project, finally "Bogotà Experiences" on UND, by Joy-Dj Moss.
"Joyenergizer" made him famous in all the world. "Joyenergizer" went on the top of European chart: "This single_ says Joy Kitikonti_ was born a night….during a very particular dream".
In 2001 was released in Italy "VIP LOUNGE II", a musical trip into chill out, and for another time Joy's energy is clear in every track.
In 2002 he produced "Joydontstop", a worldwide success. In the same year was born Marikit project, from the collaboration with Mario Più. For this collaboration will be create Sacrifice label. "And You", first production, went on the top of the charts and Mega Vixen (June 2003), tribute to 70ies erotic films, continued the success.
Under Rocktronick Orchestra nickname (May 2003), Mario and Joy reproposed in a techno trance way "Light my Fire", one of the most famous track of the Doors.
With Mario Più, Joy is A&R for Sacrifice label, and for BXR label.
He's a member of Metempsicosi, a free association among six artists who share ideas, sound and successes.
July 2003: Pornojoy, his new record, has been released
Joy reveals: "In Pornojoy I express 2 passion of mine: 70/80ies erotism, and the South America. The idea of this production was born on web, during a chat with a friend of mine called Porno…"….Listen to it and watch the hot videoclip, already on the top of German MTV Dance Floor Chart.
In 2003 Joy Kitikonti produced "Tronic Toys" by Joy@Joman and "The Land Of Freedom" by Kiper, a record born thanks to Paola Peroni's collaboration. In 2004 Joy contributed to the project "Angel" by Cappella, he created a powerful version "Kitikonti Mix", but he also gave us the marvellous remix of "I can't dance" by NCA.
