Gigi D'Agostino was born in Turin, in 1967, when his father, Nicola, and his mother, Rosa, moved from Salerno. He started to mix in the early 1980s … “In the afternoon I used to put my speakers on my balcony and I try to share the Emotion I felt in listening to music with the people, that were walking in the street…what a wankar!!!"
…Later disco arrived! “ At the beginning I was a lights dj: I worked the lights for nothing, hoping to have my opportunity soon… ”. The opportunity arrived, Gigi got on the console, and he started playing records: it was 1986, and house-music was popular in all the clubs. Gigi organized his first big night for his birthday party, in 1990. “The club owner asked me to return; after some years I had my own staff and I stopped playing in little parties and I started to play in one of the most important clubs in Turin, called Ultimo Impero. It was here that in 1994 I organized an electronic music event, which soon developed into a “one-night tour” .
In 1995 he arrived at Media Records, and a happy relationship began! Gigi D'Agostino is the poet, the inventor of Mediterranean Progressive, which can be heard everywhere… From this moment his musical career is marked by strong emotions and numerous successes.
“Those who pursue the fascination and let themselves go… can create the most beautiful things…” Today we can't even count his gold records, thanks to productions like the compilation “Le Voyage ‘96", or the album"Gigi D'Agostino" , or the singles "Bla Bla Bla”, “L'Amour Toujours", "La Passion"......and many others …. It's impossible to mention them all! Gigi D'Agostino has won the TRIPLE PLATINUM AWARD 3 times, in 1999 and in 2000 in Italy with “Tanzen” and with “Another Way”; in 2001 in Austria with "L'Amour Toujours" (album). Gigi D'Agostino has had many awards in Italy and in Europe. In 2001, he was given a prize for Best Dance Artist, at the ITALIAN MUSIC AWARDS and at the ITALIAN DANCE AWARDS, and was also given an prize as Best Dance Producer and Italian Artist in the World.
His single “ Super ”, in which Albertino's voice was used, was at the fourth place, in the italian sale chart, for 5 weeks running. In 2001 he confirmed his desire to create a musical journey, thanks to “ Il Grande Viaggio ” compilation, which contains tracks created by Gigi D'Agostino and tracks revisited with his energetic ability. 2003 is also a year of great successes…Gigi D'Agostino is interested in “ a future and a present full of people without prejudices…ready to question every thing anytime…ready to construct Emotions….Ready to do not just to Speak… ”. Gigi is determined to make us live new Musical Emotions: his new Compilation “ Il Programmino di Gigi D'Agostino ” has just come out, born on his first successful radio show (on air on Radio Italia Network). It has been definited “ 2003 summer cult music ”. Gigi D'Agostino is ready to give us a new “ex-straordinary” emotional journey, with “ Silence e.p. - UNDERCONSTRUCTION 1 ” , on triple vinyl and CD support, with “Silence” and a lot of sound-breaking tracks. But Gigi D'Agostino don't stop and his incredible trip continues also during 2004!!!
